The union of Tradition, Innovation, and Technology simplifies and optimizes the orchestra’s daily work in a simple and effective way.
The 2023-2024 season of the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir, inaugurated on October 5 at the Teatro Monumental, is not only a promise of great concerts but also a reflection of ongoing technological innovation through the comprehensive “all-in-one” digital management platform provided by Rolling Scores.
The Teatro Monumental, with over 100 years of history, 35 of those as the home of the RTVE Orchestra and Choir, is hosting the 20 concerts of the season, which will conclude on May 10, 2024. The program, titled ‘Classical Monumental,’ offers musical diversity ranging from the works of G. F. Telemann to contemporary music, including the premiere of the Reina Sofía Prize-winning work by Javier Quislant. The season concerts are held on Thursdays and Fridays at Teatro Monumental at 7:30 p.m. and can be watched on La 2 and listened to on Radio Clásica.
This season, the orchestra continues its implementation of Rolling Scores, which began in the previous season. The platform continues to transform the orchestra’s daily operations, facilitating project organization, decentralized score management, and providing a multi-format viewer with shared annotations. The functionalities of Rolling Scores significantly enhance efficiency and convenience for both musicians and administrative departments.
The experience gained from last season with Rolling Scores is allowing musicians to make more effective use of their work, including real-time annotations that are instantly shared with the rest of the orchestra. Additionally, this season marks significant progress in score management: now, all materials are available in the Rolling Scores app. This has not only eased access to the season’s works but has also reduced the workload of archivists and provided musicians with greater convenience for studying their scores anytime, anywhere, and on any device.
With the continued implementation of Rolling Scores, the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir demonstrates its vision in integrating innovation and technology into its processes, aiming not only to enhance the quality of its musical performances but also to optimize the preparation and execution of its rehearsals, concerts, and tours.
The 2023-2024 season thus emerges as a clear example of the balance between musical tradition and technological innovation.
